Quick Thoughts – “Yesterday’s Scars and Tomorrow’s Hope” Story Event

Event summary on the Granblue Fantasy English Wiki

I thought the story would be mainly about Aster, a young Erune girl who is undergoing a trial to become a guardian, a kind of rite of passage. However, turns out it’s at least as much about Sutera as Aster.

From what I can tell, Sutera was previously a guardian in Aster’s hometown, but left her post to journey with the main character’s posse. This makes Sutera apprehensive about coming home because some people, such as the village elder, feel resentment toward her for “abandoning” her responsibility. Sutera also carries an inferiority complex to her older sister Metera, a natural born genius who everyone adored, and lacks confidence because she can’t wield her bow to its true power.

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty decent story about Sutera’s growth, and Metera steals the show with some brief appearances near the end. Wish I had either of them…

The Babylon Staff (SSR earth staff) has value as a placeholder in earth weapon pools because it has the earth ATK II skill on it. The Babylon Harp (SR earth harp) is also passable as a main hand weapon if you really want to play earth Superstar but lack earth harps.

Marduk, the event summon, apparently has a 4* form (is this the first story event summon to get a 4* limit break?), but I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble to pursue. At Lv150, the raw stats aren’t too bad, and the leader skill is a little better than 3* Vohu Manah. Still, I have a hard time recommending it. If you’re going for Marduk, you’d better go all in because it’s garbage from 0*~3*.
